The Community Outreach Committee met earlier this month to gather ideas for the 2009-2010 school year. The ideas listed below include successful activities from last school year and possible new activities for this school year.
- Children’s Activities – Halloween, Christmas, and Easter activities will offered this year. Proceeds from these events will benefit local charities.
- Studio Art students are hosting a show at Starbucks beginning in November to raise money for Auburn Youth and Family Services.
- A district-wide art show is being planned for the 2009-2010 school year.
- Community members who have generously donated to Auburn High School will once again receive free admission tickets to all home basketball games.
- The Ronald E. Prouty Media Center, in conjunction with Barnes and Noble, will be sponsoring a Book Fair in March.
- National Honor Society students will be available to rake and shovel for local senior citizens.
- Student Council is sponsoring an event called Rachel’s Challenge, an organization which promotes kindness.
- Senior Citizen Prom
- Community-wide Homecoming for 2010-2011 (Whole community event, tents , moon bounces, parade, dunk tanks, outside vendors, etc.)
- Movie Night in the auditorium
- Game previews in the auditorium
- Turkey Run/Drop 5k for Thanksgiving with proceeds to benefit the local charities
- Health Fair (educational booths including fire and police departments)
- Science Fair at night
